Breasts Shmests

So this woman, a former beauty queen, found out that she had a 90% chance of getting breast cancer since practically every woman in her family has died of the disease. After seeing her mother suffer through the pain of breast cancer and eventually dying because of it she decided to NIP (pun intended) this problem in the bud. As a preventative she decided to remove BOTH of her breasts and replace them with fake ones before she got any sort of cancer at all.

Now, I can understand wanting to prevent this from happening. Who wants to hear that they have breast cancer and it's possibly spread throughout your entire body and before you know it you're dying in two months--no one wants that. BUT what I don't understand is how she could think that putting a foreign object into her body in place of her natural breasts would be any better. People get sick from breast implants all the time. They pop, the leak, the can kill. Also, the woman went from a size 32 A to a 32 E!!!!! WTF!?!?

Apparently before the surgery she was constantly depressed because her husband left her and she feared for her life as well. This to me sounds like 20% my breasts may kill me 80% why not cut them off and get awesome brand new HUGE ones and possibly a brand new husband too! A win win situation right? Wrong, she has gigantic, heaping sacks of liquid in her body now, scars running across them and no nipples.

To me, this "preventative" is almost like using abortion as birth control. If it happens and it needs to be remedied then ok I'm all for it. But going to the extreme when it may not be necessary is risky behavior that messes with mother nature's head. Is it worth the risk either way? And if she really wanted to do this, why get them SO LARGE!? Perhaps a nice size B would have been just fine.
