Oh To Be A Girl of 26 Dressed in Black Satin and a String of Pearls!

"Why is it that when you're rich you're whimsical and eccentric
but when you're poor you have schizophrenia and can't get a job and live on the streets like wtf?"--You said it Miss Jane

Regarding a blog post about the YOUNG, HIP and WHIMSICAL (might I add LOADED) Daphne Guinness.

"I grew up in an artists’ colony near Barcelona with Salvador DalÍ and the Surrealists, so my dress sense is very coloured by my youth. Everybody knew that DalÍ was the most crazy; you’d go to his house and he would have lobsters in his pool. Anything went, clothes-wise. You could wear whatever you wanted any time of day, so people would wear evening clothes at breakfast time, simple Catalan shoes and hats, lots of brightly coloured hippy kaftans, and a lot of French, tailored outfits." - Daphne Guinness

BURP, oh excuse me, I dry heaved on my pavo fingers after reading that. OH to have my biggest worry be what ball gown to wear to Salvador Dali's house for Wednesday morning brunch. Shall I pass the knife to you? I've finished slitting my wrists, thxxxxxbye!

You can read ALL about Miss Guinness's privileged life here, if you can stomach it...

I LOVE it!

ps you (seriously) should read love in a cold climate by nancy mitford (her aunt)...it's stellar! her grandmother, diana mitford, married oswald mosley, leader of the british union of fascists! fascinating and a great beauty.

re: schizophrenia...rich or poor...you could end up like daphne guinness' relative isabella blow...who tried twice to kill herself by drinking bleach...before finally succeeding!

cheers ; )
